The Sun reports that Star Wars director J.J. Abrams met with Tom Cruise in the interest of giving him a role in the upcoming Episode VII.
Some kind of "insider" reports: "Tom [Cruise] has been in London for over a week and met up with JJ [Abrams] and some other people from Star Wars over the weekend. On Saturday evening five of them met up for dinner and drinks at the Belgravia Hotel. JJ produced Mission Impossible 5 and loves working with Tom whenever he gets the chance.
"Losing Harrison Ford is going to set things back a little scheduling wise and there’s some time to play around with."
Of course, it is The Sun, so take all of this with a grain of salt.
Episode VII will also star Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o, Game of Thrones's Gwendolyn Christie, Oscar Isaac, and Andy Serkis, as well as the old guard Carrie Fisher, Mark Hammill, and Harrison Ford. Ford was recently injured when his leg was crushed by the Millennium Falcon on set, which has sparked rumors that the production is in trouble.
This will likely be the first and last film that Abrams directs, as Rian Johnson has just been tapped to direct Episodes VIII and IX.
